Paper Machine Superintendent

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of paper machine operations, including safety, quality, production, and employee engagement.
• Provide leadership and direction to operators, process engineers, and production personnel assigned to the machine.
• Serve as the primary technical resource and problem solver for machine-related issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, quality, and reliability.
• Partner closely with maintenance, engineering, quality, and mill leadership teams to achieve operational goals.
• Develop and coach employees while building a high-performance culture.
• Monitor machine performance metrics and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Support ongoing turnaround and operational improvement efforts across the facility.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a paper mill manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of paper machine operations and papermaking processes.
• Recognized as the "go-to" person for troubleshooting and solving complex operational issues.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience managing production personnel in a fast-paced industrial operation.
• Experience leading operations in a turnaround or performance-improvement environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Paper Science, or a related technical discipline preferred but not required.
• 3+ years of paper machine leadership experience.
• Experience working directly with parent roll production, converting pulp into finished paper rolls.
