Paper Assistant Asset Manager

The Assistant Asset Manager at Georgia-Pacific in Toledo, OR supports the Paper department. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Drive a culture of safety and environmental excellence
  2. Collaborate with operators, shift leaders, and asset managers to meet departmental objectives and promote continuous improvement
  3. Lead teams in identifying, developing, evaluating, and implementing safety, quality, and cost reduction initiatives and projects
  4. Manage process and equipment modifications to enhance product quality, reduce variation, and improve customer satisfaction
  5. Aid in the development and implementation of capital projects involving process improvements

Qualifications include:

  • Two or more years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or military environments
  • One or more years of experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and/or reliability strategies
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering
  • Five or more years of leadership or supervisory experience in a pulp and paper manufacturing operation
  • Experience with paper processes and equipment operation
  • Experience managing in a labor union environment
  • Experience with chemical process safety
  • Six Sigma training and certification
