The Assistant Asset Manager at Georgia-Pacific in Toledo, OR supports the Paper department. Key responsibilities include:
- Drive a culture of safety and environmental excellence
- Collaborate with operators, shift leaders, and asset managers to meet departmental objectives and promote continuous improvement
- Lead teams in identifying, developing, evaluating, and implementing safety, quality, and cost reduction initiatives and projects
- Manage process and equipment modifications to enhance product quality, reduce variation, and improve customer satisfaction
- Aid in the development and implementation of capital projects involving process improvements
Qualifications include:
- Two or more years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or military environments
- One or more years of experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and/or reliability strategies
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering
- Five or more years of leadership or supervisory experience in a pulp and paper manufacturing operation
- Experience with paper processes and equipment operation
- Experience managing in a labor union environment
- Experience with chemical process safety
- Six Sigma training and certification
