Basic Job Responsibility
We are looking for a professional Pantry Cook to prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications and to set up stations for the menu. Pantry Cook duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.
Specific Responsibilities
- Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
- Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and plating salads, main dishes, desserts and appetizers
- Aiding in the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, kitchen equipment, walk-in coolers and freezers, and all storage areas
- Plating prepared foods based on Executive Sous Chef’s guidance
- Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
- Operating large volume cooking equipment such as mixers, slicers, ovens, grills, deep fat fryers, and/or griddles
- Labeling and stocking all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
- Verifying that prepared food meets requirements for quality, presentation, and quantity
Position Requirements
- Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
- Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
- A team player with good communication skills
- Able to carry up to 50 lbs
- ServSafe certification is a plus, but not required
Flexibility
- To work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays
