Join our team as a Senior Panel Shop Technician, where you'll play a vital role in assembling, wiring, and testing high-quality electrical control panels. Your expertise will ensure our products meet rigorous safety and performance standards, while your mentorship will help shape the next generation of skilled technicians.
In this hands-on role, you’ll take the lead in assembling, wiring, and testing electrical control panels that meet the highest engineering and industry standards. You’ll interpret complex schematics and technical documentation with ease, ensuring every panel is built with accuracy and care. As challenges arise, you’ll troubleshoot and resolve intricate electrical and mechanical issues, keeping production on track. You’ll also play a key leadership role—mentoring junior technicians, fostering a collaborative team culture, and working closely with engineering and production teams to refine designs and improve processes. Your attention to detail will shine as you maintain thorough documentation and uphold strict safety and compliance standards throughout the panel shop.
Responsibilities
- Lead the assembly, wiring, and testing of electrical control panels to meet engineering and industry standards.
- Interpret complex schematics and technical documentation accurately.
- Troubleshoot and resolve intricate electrical and mechanical issues.
- Mentor junior technicians and foster a collaborative team culture.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to refine designs and improve processes.
- Maintain thorough documentation and uphold strict safety and compliance standards.
Requirements
- 8+ years of proven experience in the electrical field and/or panel assembly.
- Knowledge of electrical standards, panel assembly, and setup.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and successfully layout equipment according to prints.
- Knowledge of welding and automated assembly.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Work Environment
- On-site at Ryan Road Panel Shop, Warren MI (not available for remote work).
- Operates in a manufacturing site environment with moving equipment and machinery (safety-sensitive role).
- Reports to the Panel Shop Manager; no direct reports.
Schedule
- Typical work schedule: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
- Full-time position; may require early starts, late finishes, or weekend work to meet business needs.
- Occasional travel to customer sites or other Paslin locations may be required.
