Job Summary

The Senior Cloud / AI PAM Engineer owns the ongoing operations that keep machine and AI identities secure once they've been discovered and onboarded. This role leads the lifecycle management, secrets handling and access controls for service accounts, AI agents, MCP servers and other non-human identities (NHIs). Where identity governance defines the policy, this role runs the capability: rotating credentials, enforcing least privilege, retiring stale access and keeping NHI operations sustainable as the environment scales. The ideal candidate is a hands-on PAM practitioner whose comfortable extending traditional privileged access practices to cover AI and machine workloads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer end-to-end lifecycle management for machine and AI identities - provisioning, credential rotation, access review and deprovisioning
  • Operate and maintain secrets management infrastructure (vaulting, dynamic secrets, credential injection) for service accounts, AI agents and MCP servers
  • Enforce least privilege access controls and just-in-time elevation for non-human identities across cloud and hybrid environments
  • Sustain day-to-day NHI governance operations, including ownership validation, entitlement review and policy enforcement at scale
  • Monitor privileged sessions and credential usage for machine and AI identities, investigating anomalies and leading remediation
  • Automate recurring PAM operations - credential rotation, access certification, orphaned-account cleanup, keeping pace with environment growth
  • Partner with the AI Identity Governance function to operationalize new policies as AI adoption expands
  • Maintain runbooks, standards and audit evidence for machine and AI identity access controls to support compliance and audit readiness
  • Report on NHI access risk, rotation coverage and remediation metrics to security leadership

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in privileged access management, identity security or infrastructure security engineering
  • Hands-on experience operating a PAM platform (CyberArk, HashiCorp Vault, Delinea, BeyondTrust or equivalent) in production
  • Practical experience managing secrets, service account credentials or machine-to-machine authentication at enterprise scale
  • Familiarity with least-privilege and just-in-time access models applied to non-human identities
  • Strong scripting or automation skills (Python, PowerShell or Terraform) to operate PAM controls at scale
  • Solid understanding of cloud IAM in at least one major provider (AWS, Azure or GCP)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating PAM platforms with cloud secrets managers (AWS Secrets Manager, Azure Key Vault) or CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with SPIFFE/SPIRE, mTLS or other workload identity standards
  • Exposure to AI/ML platform engineering or LLM application infrastructure
  • Relevant certifications (CyberArk Defender/Sentry, AWS/Azure/GCP security specialty, CISSP, or equivalent)
