About the role
The University of Maryland School of Medicine is seeking an academic palliative medicine physician for its expanding program. Clinical duties will include both inpatient activities and the development of an outpatient program. There is protected time for teaching and research.
Responsibilities
- Provide palliative care services to patients in the hospital setting
- Develop and lead an outpatient palliative care program
- Teach and mentor students, residents, and fellows in palliative care
- Participate in research projects related to palliative care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care
Requirements
- Medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent)
- Board certification/eligibility in Palliative Medicine
- A strong foundation in internal medicine, teaching, and/or research
Qualifications
- Doctorate in Medicine
- MD or equivalent
- Residency training in Internal Medicine
- Experience in palliative care

Pay
The expected salary range for Assistant Professors is $191,542 (min) and $267,823 (max). The actual compensation offered will vary based on multiple factors.
