About the role

The Palletizer is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door and begin growing your career in the glass manufacturing industry. This role will operate strapping machines and automatic palletizers and supplies load-building materials.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain supply of pallets, tier sheets, shrouds, strapping and other material required for palletizing and strapping ware
  • Check for proper application of straps around pallet loads (bulk and cased); place string ties and manual straps when required
  • Operate automatic palletizer and automatic strapping machine to prepare load of ware
  • Unjam strapping machine and automatic palletizers as required
  • Straighten loads, replace bottles, discard damaged bulking materials, and check load integrity
  • Check oil level in VFC regulators of automatic palletizers
  • Identify problems with equipment, may make very minor adjustments, and report malfunction of equipment to designated employee
  • May manually palletize loads when automatic equipment malfunctions
  • Perform clean-up and housekeeping duties

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Must be able to work a 12-hour rotating schedule, with weekend and holiday requirements
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations

Pay

The hourly wage for this position is $26.73.

Schedule
