About the role
The Palletizer works under limited supervision following prescribed procedures in the packing plant/cooler, placing filled cases of eggs of various sizes onto the appropriate pallets. This position is critical in maintaining the Food Safety and Food Quality of all eggs produced and sold.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with the middle person on the correct orders to be run and their correct amounts.
- Verify cases are correctly stamped, dated, and closed before palletizing.
- Stack cases on pallets correctly, ensuring stamps and stickers face outward.
- Move full pallets to their proper location and label them accurately.
- Know the correct dates and codes to stamp on cases and ensure all daters and stickers are accurate.
- Place product in the correct cooler location based on packing requirements.
- Number each pallet consecutively and mark the run number on the bottom case of each pallet.
- Use only unbroken pallets and ensure orders are counted out, taping off cases to signify completion.
- Maintain a clean work area and frequently check tape levels and taper operation.
- Place cardboard on the bottom of every pallet, as well as on the third row of half cases and the fourth row of EB’s.
- Stack all cases straight and square.
Requirements
- Must be able to use a pallet jack.
- Very good observation skills.
- Ability to work in a close teamwork environment.
- Maintains a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to maintain a fast pace while handling a fragile product.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly for long periods of time.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to tolerate noise levels typical of a processing plant.
- Must be able to work in an environment kept at 40-45 degrees.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Employment Type: Full-Time, must be available weekends.
