Palletizer

About the role

The Palletizer is responsible for efficiently and accurately stacking products or materials onto pallets in preparation for shipping or storage. This role ensures that products are properly arranged, secured, and labeled, contributing to effective inventory management and safe transportation.

America's Heartland Packing is set to open its doors in early 2025. The 775,000 sq. ft. greenfield project will include a harvest floor, carcass chillers, fabrication area, rendering, further processing area, storage coolers, freezers, and loading docks.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently and accurately stack products or materials onto pallets for shipping or storage.
• Ensure products are properly arranged, secured, and labeled to support inventory management and safe transportation.
• Complete a daily inspection report of the pallet jack at the start of each shift.
• Report any deficiencies that would prevent safe use of the pallet jack immediately to the shipping supervisor.
• Order pickers report to the load controller to receive load pick tickets.
• Order pickers work with high lift drivers to drop product required based on the pick ticket.
• Hand stack boxes, separate products by date if required by the customer, and wrap pallets with a pallet wrapper or by hand.
• Check product code dates to ensure the oldest product is picked or that picks adhere to customer date restrictions.
• Move product to the dock and work with the loader when needed.
• Use scan guns to build pallet tags, complete pallet inquiries, ship orders, transfer products to various warehouses, and complete customer returns.
• Perform other related duties as needed to meet ongoing organizational needs (marginal duties).

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must be able to work in a humid, cold, wet or slippery surface at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (P.P.E).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience/knowledge of manufacturing environment.
• Previous knife experience in manufacturing environment.

• Ability to attend work consistently.
• Display strong work ethic.

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects.
