About the Role

The Pallet Picking Associate is responsible for a variety of duties that contribute to the daily success of the Outbound functions (pick, pack, ship, etc.) within PDC. This is an essential onsite role requiring regular attendance.

Schedule

Sunday, Friday, Saturday, 5:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Locate, retrieve, and move product in a timely manner from location to location (e.g., large and oversize area pick to put racking in pack) or from pallets/crates for storage or shipment.
• Use a Stock Picker, which may require going up to 30ft to pick orders.
• Transport non-conveyable product to an actionable area or conveyable product needing action (e.g., return to stock, cancelled orders) using an RF device.
• Assist in locating product to be expedited when needed.
• Pick parts using a handheld device that directs you to the location.
• Operate and adhere to all Power Industrial Vehicles (PIV) policies and equipment rules (Stock Chasers, Order Picker, Turret Trucks, Forklifts, Ride-on Pallet Jacks) with limited supervision.
• Actively participate as a team member to meet departmental goals.
• Uphold the highest safety standards.
• Maintain organizational KPIs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Acquire and maintain forklift certification (provided by Digi-Key).
• Regular use of Order Picker, Turret Truck, 8900 (motorized Pallet cart), and Forklifts.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Basic computer navigation and typing skills.
• Positive, professional, and enthusiastic outlook.
• Ability to multi-task and change focus quickly based on requests.
• Problem-solving skills; collaborate with peers and leaders to resolve issues.
• Strong time management to keep parts and orders flowing.
• Dependable and committed to excellence and success.

Physical Requirements

• Perform repetitive motions affecting hands, head, and other body parts.
• Spend 8–10 hours walking/standing on concrete.
• Routinely lift 5–10 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs, and rarely up to 77+ lbs (with lift assistance).
• Push boxes, occasionally up to 50 lbs, from heavy box lift to conveyor.
• Ability to twist, bend, and occasionally climb stairs.
• Reach with hands and arms above shoulder level.

Pay

Starting base pay: $20.00/hour. Additional shift, skill, and/or team lead pay differentials may apply.

Starting rates for shifts:

• Full-Time Day Shift: $21.00 ($20.00 base + $1.00 allowance)
• Full-Time Evening/Overnight Shift: $24.00 ($20.00 base + $1.00 allowance + $3.00 shift differential)
• Full-Time 3-12 Shift: $23.34 ($20.00 base + $1.00 allowance + $2.34 allowance for 36-for-40 schedule)
• Part-Time: $20.00 ($19.00 base + $1.00 allowance)
• Seasonal Day Shift: $20.00 ($19.00 base + $1.00 allowance)
• Seasonal Evening Shift: $23.00 ($19.00 base + $1.00 allowance + $3.00 shift differential)
