Painter - Tennessee Athletics - UTK

Responsibilities

• Apply paint to multiple surfaces including but not limited to walls, floors, doors, windows, etc.
• Repair minor cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, plaster, or other fillers using the proper equipment.
• Apply touchup techniques to multiple surfaces.
• Apply different types of wall covering (wallpaper, vinyl, wall talker, photo tech, etc.).
• Ensure that work surfaces are prepped/cleaned for proper application.
• Fabricate or update simple and complex signage.
• Ensure a clean and safe work environment during and completion of work.
• Other general maintenance duties as assigned.

  Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 2+ years of commercial painted experience required.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
    • Knowledge of painting application to different substrates.
    • Ability to match different paint colors and techniques for the task at hand.
    • Basic knowledge of wall covering installation.
    • Skilled in applying finished products, i.e., caulk.
    • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and to foster teamwork.
    • Ability to work with diverse populations in a positive manner.
    • Ability to complete projects on time.

  About the Role

  The position involves painting, installing different wall coverings, sign making, and assisting with basic maintenance in Athletic Facilities. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment-based visa status.
