How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a member of the Paint team, you are responsible to ensure all parts are free from defect and properly painted/powder coated.What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
- Safety
- Follow all safety rules and adhere to core value of business.
- Maintain clean, orderly work areas and equipment.
- Report repairs and/or issues to team lead or supervisor.
- Quality
- Ensure proper and effective operation of entire finishing system throughout the painting process so that all parts and surfaces are free from defects.
- Monitor quality of own work and immediately report defective material, unusual conditions, and/or operating difficulties to team lead or supervisor.
- Perform light maintenance on equipment, machines, and other devices used in the normal course of the work performed.
- Delivery
- Ability to read work orders so that the correct part numbers are selected, and correct color is applied to parts.
- Daily documentation of work performed for required production records.
- Utilize small tools such as grinders to remove scratches, excess weld material and burrs.
- Operates sandblasting machine to clean surfaces prior to painting or coating.
- Carefully coordinate staging and sequencing of hanging of parts, production items, and product components to be painted on overhead conveyor system.
- Operate spray painting guns, equipment, and related items in the appropriate/efficient manner, being sure to follow all safety and OSHA standards.
- Unload of parts, items, and product components.

- Required Experience
- 1 year experience in manufacturing environment.
- Experience sandblast, industrial paint, or similar operation
- Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and as a team.
