About the role

Must be able to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting, and paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using a spray gun, brush, and rollers. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Reads work orders and receives instructions verbally.
• Prepare the surface using methods appropriate to remove dirt, oil, and grease, removing old paint, smoothing cracks, coating, and filling holes.
• Work at heights with no fear.
• May fill cavities and dents with putty to attain a smooth surface.
• Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce the desired color, according to specifications using a paddle or mechanical mixer.
• May erect scaffolding or set up a ladder to perform tasks above ground level.
• Apply paint to the surface using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Education – no minimum education requirements.
• Experience – 4 years of Journeyman level experience.
• Certification/License: NCCER and a Valid Driver’s License.

Work may be performed in industrial and construction environments with exposure to weather conditions, temperature extremes, noise, dust, fumes, moving equipment, vibration, and other site-specific hazards. Employees must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements applicable to the position. Must be able to perform all job duties while maintaining a constant commitment to safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
