Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking an Industrial Painter to support a government contract based in Kings Bay, Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Clean, preserve, and prepare a multitude of surfaces for painting, including but not limited to metal, wood, gypsum, stucco, aluminum, galvanized, and fiberglass surfaces.
- Prepare surfaces on equipment, cranes, buildings, structures, offices, and machinery using tools such as sandblasting equipment, chippers, sanders, grinders, putty knives, and drills.
- Apply surfaces using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other equipment to achieve desired results in color, coating, film thickness, coverage, and protection.
- Position and operate sandblasting equipment, including compressors, receivers, water separators, filters, sandblasting pots, hoses, and blast hoses.
- Mix colors, oils, and thinners to obtain proper color or consistency.
- Perform mold remediation if certified.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of journeyman experience in the painting field within the last eight years.
- Proficiency in the use of spray painting and sandblasting equipment, including all tools common to corrosion control.
- Proficiency in patch and painting techniques for interior painting.
- Thorough knowledge of paints, thinners, lacquers, and good color perception.
- Ability to read and comprehend mix ratios and minimum surface preparation as required by paint manufacturers.
- Experience working with protective coatings, including thinners, lacquers, epoxies, cleaners, inorganic zinc coatings, polyamide epoxy coatings, aliphatic polyurethanes, and epoxy mastic coatings.
- Ability to work at heights up to 150 feet, including from mechanical lifting devices.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Must wear hard-toed safety shoes meeting ASTM F2413-0S standards.
- Must be able to wear a close-fitting respirator (requires absence of facial hair that interferes with the respirator seal).
- Subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to all areas of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.

- On-Call Pay: Two hours of overtime pay per day when on call during off-days/holidays.
- Safety Shoes: $175 annual allowance.
- Prescription Safety Glasses: Up to $250 annually (per policy).
Pay
$36.45 per hour.
