Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent.
- Three (3) years journeyman experience in the painting field within the last eight years.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of spray painting and sandblasting equipment, to include all tools common to corrosion control.
- Demonstrated proficiency in patch and painting techniques for interior painting.
- Thorough knowledge of paints, thinner, and lacquers and good color perception.
- Ability to read and comprehend mix ratios and minimum surface preparation as required by paint manufacturers.
- Ability to work with protective coatings to include but not limited to thinners, lacquers, epoxies, cleaners, inorganic zinc coatings, polyamide epoxy coatings, aliphatic polyurethanes, and epoxy mastic coatings.
- Able to work at various heights up to 150 feet, including work from mechanical lifting devices.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Ability to wear hard-toed safety shoes which meet ASTM F2413-0S standards.
- Agree to wear a close-fitting respirator (requires the absence of facial hair that would interfere with the respirator seal).
