About the role
Facilities Management is seeking a skilled, experienced painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in painting interior walls and furnishings, and preparing (scrape, sand, prep) the area/surfaces to be painted, spreading drop cloths, etc. This candidate should be able to hang sheetrock, tape, prepare patch, and texture drywall with taping mud, plaster, or spackle. Additionally the candidate in this role could be involved in applying various types of materials such as alkyds, acrylics, urethane, epoxies, lacquer, vinyl's, and stains with brushes, rollers, and spray equipment to walls, ceilings, floors, window sash, doors, and other furnishings, mix color, match paints, stains, varnishes, and/or enamels to produce desired color. May be asked to assist with other duties related to operations, maintenance and renovations to buildings and equipment such as preventive maintenance; light duty carpentry, painting, electrical and other miscellaneous repair and maintenance activities; and respond to emergency and urgent work.
Responsibilities

- Apply various types of materials such as alkyds, acrylics, urethane, epoxies, lacquer, vinyl's, and stains with brushes, rollers, and spray equipment to walls, ceilings, floors, window sash, doors, and other furnishings.
- Mix color, match paints, stains, varnishes, and/or enamels to produce desired color.
- Assist with other duties related to operations, maintenance and renovations to buildings and equipment such as preventive maintenance; light duty carpentry, painting, electrical and other miscellaneous repair and maintenance activities.
- Respond to emergency and urgent work.
Requirements
- High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- Painter I: Two years of work experience; preference given to those with experience in the painting trade.
- Painter II: Four years of work experience in the painting trade.
- Painter III: Seven Years of experience in the painting trade.
- Painter IV: Ten years of experience in the painting trade.
Qualifications
- Computer skills
- Painter IV: Ten years of experience in painting trade.
- Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses: Have before hire and maintain after hire, a valid driver’s license.
- A valid driver’s license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned.

- Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding or high-lift equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and completely.
