Job Description
Job Title: Painter Helper

Essential Functions
- Prepare equipment to be painted by cleaning, washing, applying caulk, taping, masking, wiping, vacuuming, hanging, etc.
- Lift and hang pieces on a rack to be cleaned and painted.
- Operate a pressure washer.
- Operate various sizes and makes of forklifts.
- Operate an overhead crane.
- Wear a respirator.
- Prepare and clean surfaces, re-tap holes, paint, to OEM condition.
- Disassemble, clean, and repair equipment.
- Finish, patch and repair surfaces as needed, including emergency repairs.
- Keep work area clean and organized by practicing good housekeeping.
- Under supervision, training could be provided to learn industrial painting. This would include the following duties:
- Learning and maintain paint equipment
- Remove paint and finishes; prepare surfaces for application of paint
- Identify characteristics of surfaces to be coated and ensure proper preparation and application of coating
- Mix and match paints, and other finishes; prepare materials and equipment used for a variety of applications
- Apply various coatings including epoxy’s, enamels, urethanes, paints, varnishes, stains, lacquers to a variety of surfaces using high volume, low pressure airless, and conventional paint equipment
- Check for quality during the course of a job to ensure coating is applied according to specifications and to reduce re-work
Other Essential Duties
- Maintain regular and consistent job attendance, come to work on time

- Provide assistance in the final assembly department by assembling and installing electrical components as needed.
Requirements
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High School or GED preferred. Completion of at least 10th grade education required, plus up to one-month related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a Valid Driver’s License.
- The employee must consistently lift 20 lbs., frequently lift/move 40 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent; and draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be able to use computer to log in time and job hours.
- Possess valid OSHA forklift and Overhead Crane certification or ability to obtain such.
- Must be able to pass a Pulmonary Functions Test to wear a respirator.
- Must comply with and follow all IE safety programs, policies and procedures.
- Must operate and perform job duties in a safe manner.
- Must be able to operate/work safely around machinery/moving equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Peripheral vision, Color Vision, Depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear.
- The employee is frequently required to stand; stoop, kneel, crouch, or smell. The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit.
Work Schedule
Must be able to work a 40-hour work week and additional time as required.
