Painter (Building Maintenance)

Summary

RHF Angelus Plaza, a premier senior living community in downtown Los Angeles, is seeking a Painter to join our Maintenance team.

About the Role

The Painter will prepare surfaces for painting, apply paint, perform touch-ups, assist in unit turnover, and perform minor repairs and drywall repair as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, patching, caulking, priming, and cleaning.
• Apply paint, stain, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
• Perform touch-ups and repaint areas as needed in apartments, hallways, offices, and common areas.
• Maintain painting tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Absorb and report potential maintenance issues or safety hazards.
• Complete daily work orders and maintain accurate records of materials used and work performed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of professional painting experience (residential, commercial, or facility maintenance preferred).
• Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation.
• Ability to match colors and finishes with accuracy.
• Basic knowledge of drywall repair and general maintenance preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward residents and coworkers.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work (standing, bending, climbing ladders).

Working Conditions

• Work is performed indoors and outdoors in a senior residential facility.
• May be exposed to paint fumes, dust, and other construction-related materials.
• May require occasional overtime or weekend work depending on operational needs.
