Painter/Blaster

About the role

Bridge Brothers is seeking an Industrial Painter / Blaster to apply protective coatings to structural steel used in bridge construction.

This is a hands-on shop role focused on surface prep, blasting, and applying high-performance coatings that protect steel in demanding environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare steel surfaces for coating (cleaning, grinding, masking, blasting, etc.)
• Perform sandblasting / abrasive blasting as needed
• Mix and apply coatings including epoxy, zinc-rich, and urethane systems
• Apply coatings using airless spray equipment, brushes, and rollers
• Inspect work for proper coverage, adhesion, and finish quality
• Work with Quality Control to meet coating specs and requirements
• Maintain and clean spray equipment and tools
• Follow all safety procedures when handling coatings, solvents, and equipment
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
• Absorb other shop areas as needed

Requirements

• Experience in industrial painting, sandblasting, or protective coatings
• Familiarity with epoxy, zinc, or similar coating systems
• Experience using spray equipment (airless preferred)
• Ability to follow instructions, specs, and basic drawings
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
• Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus (not required)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime

Skills

• Proficiency in industrial painting and sandblasting techniques
• Knowledge of epoxy, zinc, and urethane coating systems
• Experience operating airless spray equipment
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes

Pay

Competitive pay based on experience.

Schedule

Monday – Friday
Overtime available based on workload
