About the role

The Painter position at Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is a key role in the production team responsible for applying finishes to company products, aircraft, assemblies, parts, and test coupons.

Responsibilities

  • Apply finishes to company products, aircraft, assemblies, parts, and test coupons.
  • Perform various processing, coating application, and parts identification tasks.
  • Repair and minor assembly in the manufacture of company products.
  • Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training and assisting employees.
  • Train and assist Assembly Technicians as required.
  • Participate in internal and external audits.

Requirements

  • Ability to work from elevated platforms, e.g. lifts, scaffolding, ladders.
  • Ability to set up and use test equipment to ensure applications meet customer requirements.
  • Must be able to access and work to material MSDS data and comply with Spirit Safety policies.
  • Maintain certifications, qualifications, licenses or permits as required to perform work.
  • Carry, lift, push/pull, squat/kneel, stand, walk, and use personal protective equipment as required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Knowledge of aircraft manufacturing processes and quality control standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, process instructions, and customer specifications.

Skills

  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including pneumatic sanders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Good communication skills to interact with team members and customers.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols and emergency procedures.
