Painter Assistant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review repair estimates for painting instructions and create a plan to perform work.
• Provide proper tools and tool storage for performing assigned tasks.
• Disassemble and re-assemble of truck parts and accessories for access to painted surfaces.
• Sand, prime and prep painted surfaces for painting.
• Operate air operated sanding and grinding equipment.
• Perform all taping and masking in a professional manner to ensure a quality and acceptable finished product.
• Able to identify that surfaces are paint ready before applying paint products.
• Able to provide proper training for applying paint products and knowledge of paint mixing procedures.
• Operate pressurized spray equipment.
• Familiar with safety equipment for painting, including respirators and body protection.
• Able to provide a quality and acceptable paint finish for all paint assignments.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from a fully accredited college or technical school.
• Minimum of two years related experience and/or training.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
