Painter 3A

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts for painting, ensuring proper surface treatment
• Conduct intermediate preventative maintenance on blast equipment
• Manage blast booth loading while keeping paperwork organized
• Accurately reads, interprets, and matches tags on parts to the corresponding job
• Perform daily inspections and preventative maintenance tasks
• Mix paint, clean equipment, and utilize manometers effectively
• Apply enamel paints correctly with little to no rework required after 6 months
• Assist with down stacking or order auditing as needed
• Correctly replace filters in all booths
• Operate pressure pots and utilize D cups appropriately
• Use Conventional HVLP equipment efficiently
• Apply primer to parts with precision and adherence to standards
• Stage parts correctly for paint booths to ensure an efficient workflow
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Knowledge- LEAN Principles
• Skills- Proficiency with power tools, air tools, and hand tools
• Ability to read and work with a 1/16-inch tolerance
• Familiarity with routers and ability to follow instructions from prints
• Intermediate understanding of time reporting, logs, and vault
• Intermediate knowledge of priming operations
• Intermediate knowledge of the paint tagging system
• Ability to pass a Respirator Fit Test per company policy
• Abilities- Ability to respectfully mentor fellow employees
• Ability to foster and work within a team environment
• Ability to actively participate in safety programs and comply with all Columbia safety policies
• Ability to follow written and verbal instruction
• Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects at one time
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area
• Ability to communicate well with peers, supervision, customers, vendors, and other departments
• Ability to actively participate in Columbia Idea System, 6S, and other CI efforts
• Ability to demonstrate the qualities of a "Team Player" by accepting new responsibilities and filling in for other employees when needed
