Painter - 1st
Position Summary
As a Painter you will be responsible to produce quality components through either powder or wet paint processes to obtain the required finish. Shift: 7:00am - 4:30pm Monday-Thursday and 7:00am-11:00am on Friday.
What You Will Do
- Operate Manual paint equipment and/or Automated Paint System
- Record program settings in controllers
- Maintain records for paint inventory and daily operating parameters
- Read and interpret travellers and blueprints and other working documents
- Record activity (number of parts and elapse times) on the Shop Floor Control System
- Produce quality components that meet all finish requirements as determined by Engineering by measuring paint thickness and visually inspecting parts
- Always remain safety conscious, wearing all prescribed safety equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing job and observing all safety rules stated in the Employee Handbook
- Immediately report to your supervisor any problems, discrepancies and/or irregularities related to job assignment
- Keep paint equipment and work area clean, neat and orderly on an ongoing and daily basis using 5S standards
- Complete any and all projects, assignments and duties as directed and instructed
Required
- Ability to make decisions and stay quality focused
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and members of the leadership team
- Assist with training other operators
- Ability to understand and follow work instructions, both written and oral
- Ability to adapt to conditions as dictated by business requirements
- Ability to work with others
- Willingness to work overtime, if required
- Knowledge, understanding and application of Lean Manufacturing tools, such as, 5S, Kanban Inventory, Visual Management, Waste elimination, and Root Cause Problem Solving are preferred
- Other Computer Skills to include Microsoft Office, Shop Floor Control and AS400 preferred

- Pay range for this opportunity is $19.52 - $25.26
- This position is eligible for bonus participation
- Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed
- Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
