Paint Supervisor - 2nd shift

About the role

Pierce Manufacturing is seeking a Production Supervisor to provide leadership and support to the paint department, creating a safe, productive, and profitable environment. This role will plan and facilitate the work of team members to support on-time completion of production schedules, quality, housekeeping, and safety objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the 2nd shift paint team
• Lead production team members in a non-union environment on the manufacturing process and provide daily support in troubleshooting issues that arise
• Provide performance feedback and appraisals to team members to guide their development
• Educate and enforce quality, safety, and 5S standards and processes, and recommend changes as opportunities arise on production floor
• Support maintenance, continuous improvement, and value stream projects that support the business and ensure the production schedule demands are met
• Conduct root-cause analyses of manufacturing process to identify, define, and resolve problems and opportunities
• Enlists the requisite support to ensure the timely resolution of problems and the prompt implementation of improvements
• Report and respond to product and process nonconformance issues
• Implement and sustain 5S in work areas ensuring that tools and materials essential for the performance of the work are readily available
• Responsible for changes needed in machines, processes, materials, and assembly
• Champion process improvements and lead Kaizen events
• Create value stream mapping and standard work
• Accurately maintain company records and documents in accordance with policies and procedures

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED with three (3) or more years of manufacturing experience. OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to plan and organize projects
• Good communication skills both verbal and written

Skills

Core Competencies include internal contacts with peers and others involving explanation of information, gathering of factual information, and communication of sensitive or confidential information. External contacts are limited to gathering information, answering queries, or asking assistance. Strong communication skills, including reading, writing, and comprehending simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Working Conditions

Physical demands include frequent standing, walking/running, sitting, reaching, hearing, talking, and visual activities. Non-physical demands include frequent analysis/reasoning, communication/interpretation, math/mental computation, reading, and sustained mental activity. Environmental demands include frequent work alone, task changes, and tedious/exacting work.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $73,200.00 - $117,800.00, reflecting the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education, and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
