Paint Specialist
About the role
Build and maintain relationships with PBE customers for consistent and profitable sales growth. Lookup and mix custom OEM colors. Provide technical assistance and use PBE sales tools for high-level customer service. Work with Store Manager to achieve sales goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop strong relationships with PBE customers, both retail and professional.
- Offer color matching expertise and paint product selection advice.
- Identify OEM paint codes, enter formulas, and mix/tint paint according to specifications.
- Maintain mixing room, scales, machines, and counters, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Manage inventory, including checking in and putting up stock, performing cycle counts, and adding/removing products.
- Create and review weekly call schedules and summaries, submitting monthly reports to District Manager.
- Coordinate with Installer Service Specialists to route Delivery Specialists for efficient service.
- Promote company customer service programs and assist in gathering information for labor claims/warranties.
- Keep up-to-date with PBE industry news, processes, and products, including regulatory compliance.
- Promote PBE sales tools and assist in maximizing profits and competitiveness.
- Greet walk-in customers, assist with merchandise selection, complete daily tasks, and handle customer complaints.
- Complete FastTrack training modules relevant to the position.
- Process cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
- Handle returned merchandise according to policies.
- Perform clerical tasks such as preparing returns, assisting with stock adjustments, and completing paperwork.
- Provide superior service to professional PBE customers through teamwork with Territory Sales Managers.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Quick alphanumeric sequence matching ability.
- Outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store simultaneously.
Desired Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities
- Automotive paint and body knowledge/experience.
- Technical schooling.
- Fluency in multiple languages, particularly Spanish.
