About the role
The Paint Robot Assistant / Industrial Painter at Orion Castings’ JEL Finishing Plant supports the production of high-quality die cast parts for various industries. This role involves running, monitoring, and maintaining automated and semi-automatic painting systems, as well as performing manual industrial spray painting tasks.
Responsibilities
- Paint Preparation & Mixing: Retrieve specified paints from inventory, mix base paints with thinners, components, and reducers to achieve the required viscosity.
- Production Painting: Assist automated robotic lines and physically spray paint parts to meet precise customer and technical specifications.
- Quality Inspection: Inspect coated parts for defects, uniform thickness, and adherence to strict quality and aesthetic standards.
- System Maintenance: Ensure safe and accurate equipment operations by performing routine housekeeping, cleaning spray booths, and replacing filters as needed.
- Environmental Safety: Properly pour surplus paint into designated waste buckets, ensuring compliance with safety and hazardous waste regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of industrial spray painting or equivalent automated coating experience.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, finger dexterity, and sharp color sensitivity for fine quality checks.
- A high level of dependability, punctuality, and ability to strictly follow detailed work instructions.
- A proactive mindset regarding personal and team safety, handling materials in a manner that minimizes hazards.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and supervisors on the plant floor.
Skills
- Experience with industrial spray painting or equivalent automated coating processes.
