Paint Prepper

About the role

As a Paint Prepper, you will prepare paints and materials for Painter and Sr Painter roles. Duties include assigning units, ensuring proper equipment, setting up work areas, removing decals, sanding surfaces, cleaning units, and more.

Responsibilities

• Lead/Sr Painter assigns units to Preppers (jotting down unit # and serial #)
• Ensure units are properly equipped
• Bleed out air compressor to remove moisture and run it to build up air
• Lubricate all air tools
• Set-up working area with assigned tools: DA Sander, Angle Grinder, Decal Eraser, Air Gun, Tack Rags, Degreaser, Tape
• Inspect particle respirator
• Remove decals and adhesive with decal eraser
• Scuff paint with DA, sand to metal in areas with rust or body work
• Carefully blow the unit to remove dust and debris, then clean with degreaser and tack cloth
• Tape/mask for paint and clean up tape/decals on the floor and sweep
• Inspect work area to ensure it is left the same before the paint process
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 0-2 years of experience
• Occasional working at heights above 10 feet
• Ability to wear a respirator and/or hearing protection as required
• Ability to bend, kneel, and work with arms raised for prolonged periods
