Paint Prep Technician - 2nd Shift - $4,000 Sign-On Bonus

About the role

This position involves preparation for painting of finished products as directed by Lead Person or Supervisor. Tasks may include mechanic bodies, tire service bodies, miscellaneous parts, and occasionally chassis and other finished products.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of the paint prep area, working as part of a team.
• Be prompt and on time daily for work.
• Willingness to take direction from area supervision to complete orders in a timely manner.
• Read work orders and understand technical documents required by the job.
• Have the ability and desire to become efficient with mechanical equipment, learning all aspects of the job as required.
• Continually demonstrate a productive and non-disruptive work ethic.
• Create no or limited scrap or rework, aiming to improve quality levels.
• Follow all company safety rules and policies.
• Maintain company equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
• Operate all proper tooling and other equipment as specified to fulfill job requirements.
• Strive to continuously improve in all aspects of the job.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Prior basic painting and bodywork aptitude.
• Read blueprints and work orders.
• Basic manufacturing background and mechanical aptitude.
• Basic computer skills.
• Exceptional attendance.
• Able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. at times as required by job.
• Able to lift up to 10 lbs. frequently.
• Able to perform tasks that may involve reaching, grasping, and operating equipment.
• Able to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs. as required.
• Able to climb ladders.
• Able to stand for most of the shift.
• Able to perform tasks that may require crawling, squatting, kneeling, and crouching.
• Good hand dexterity and balance.
• Use of all five senses to maintain safety.
