Paint Prep- 2nd Shift

About the role

Works from production plans provided by the supervisor. Knows the colors and finishes required for each part. Follows up on the operation of the cabin and oven set-up within accepted application parameters and verifies the correct function of machines. This position is at the Fremont facility, a full-service enclosure systems solution manufacturing plant offering in-house painting capabilities and flexible logistics solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Review prints, drawings, and redlines for special paint process instructions.
  • Inspect work received from the previous operation and inspect again before moving work to the next operation.
  • Prepare, prime, sand, and paint surfaces utilizing all types of painting materials such as powder, epoxy, and water base paints, with a focus on powder coat painting.
  • Meet and maintain required tolerances.
  • Tape, repair, and apply texturing to surfaces.
  • Adjust colors when necessary; utilize enhanced finishing skills when appropriate.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain all painting equipment, including sprayers and electrostatic powder coat.
  • Estimate time and materials required; keep records and submit reports of work performed.
  • Rotate to other job functions within the same labor grade as directed by supervisor.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly; maintain proper care of equipment.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience painting sheet metal parts/components, including wet and dry (powder) processes.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Regularly required to stand, reach, bend, and move/walk throughout the facility.
  • Regularly required to listen, talk to, and see co-workers and managers on a daily basis.
  • Must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident (ITAR facility requirement).

Pay

Salary range (annual): $52,000 - $62,240 ($25.00 - $30.00 per hour).
