About the Role

This position supports production through maintenance, repair, and improvement of automotive parts manufacturing equipment. The role involves troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and test equipment using actual parts and schematics.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems, with specific experience in PLCs.
  • Build, repair, and modify equipment, jigs, fixtures, and custom machine components.
  • Set up equipment based on requirements, materials, tolerances, and machine capabilities.
  • Verify quality using precision instruments for products, equipment, and tools.
  • Utilize a computerized central stores system to manage parts inventory for machine downtime issues.
  • Coordinate and plan preventative and predictive maintenance with production teams to minimize downtime.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with qualified suppliers and vendor programs.
  • Identify tasks and prepare appropriate responses or actions to ensure successful completion.
  • Solve problems to meet business efficiency goals.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to standards and procedures.
  • Operate all manual tool room equipment.
  • Develop and report detailed information on abnormalities to improve operations.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in maintenance supporting automotive parts production.
  • Experience with injection molding equipment, robotics, and PLCs.
  • At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing with plastics.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in English and strong analytical and math skills (English and Metric systems).
  • Effective interpersonal, group leadership, and training skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to perform essential job tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Flexibility for shift rotation and overtime work.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and dependable transportation.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more throughout the day.
  • Stooping, bending, and crouching required at any time.
  • Standing for long periods.
  • Climbing ladders, platforms, or mezzanines as needed.
