Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead paint line employees, material handlers, and support staff
- Coordinate daily production activities to meet customer deadlines and production targets
- Maintain paint processes to ensure proper application and finish quality
- Oversee pretreatment, curing ovens, and coating thickness requirements
- Paint processes and tooling, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Train employees on standard work, safety procedures, and quality expectations
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams to resolve equipment and process issues
- Analyze performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Complete production reports, attendance tracking, and performance documentation
- Meet regularly on a formal basis with Management Team to review production results and improvement priorities
- Evaluate interpersonal skills, provide feedback, and recommend methods to improve interpersonal communications
- Schedule and assign personnel to work according to the demand of the manufacturing schedules
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in automotive painting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
- Familiarity with OEM paint standards and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, color codes, and safety data sheets
- Leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Basic computer skills for reporting and inventory management
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods on concrete surfaces
- Frequent movement, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Work around paint booths, ovens, conveyors, and chemical systems
- Wear required personal protective equipment
