Paint Line Supervisor

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead paint line employees, material handlers, and support staff
  • Coordinate daily production activities to meet customer deadlines and production targets
  • Maintain paint processes to ensure proper application and finish quality
  • Oversee pretreatment, curing ovens, and coating thickness requirements
  • Paint processes and tooling, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Train employees on standard work, safety procedures, and quality expectations
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams to resolve equipment and process issues
  • Analyze performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Complete production reports, attendance tracking, and performance documentation
  • Meet regularly on a formal basis with Management Team to review production results and improvement priorities
  • Evaluate interpersonal skills, provide feedback, and recommend methods to improve interpersonal communications
  • Schedule and assign personnel to work according to the demand of the manufacturing schedules

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience in automotive painting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
  • Familiarity with OEM paint standards and procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, color codes, and safety data sheets
  • Leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and inventory management

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods on concrete surfaces
  • Frequent movement, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Work around paint booths, ovens, conveyors, and chemical systems
  • Wear required personal protective equipment
