Paint Line Operator - 1st Shift

About the role

Responsibilities

• Observe and follow all safety rules
• Willing and able to work overtime as an extension to a normal workday or on weekends, as scheduled
• Convey materials using carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts (if licensed) from the paint area to designated areas
• Load and unload materials from the paint line conveyor system, however never lifting more than 50 pounds without a team lift or the use of lifting devices
• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product code after the painting process
• Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers
• Visually inspect finished painted materials to support quality
• Work as a team to coordinate loading and unloading materials
• Operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, cranes, or other moving equipment safely
• Train in the various paint line stations to progress into the next progression role
• Maintain work area to sustain a clean and orderly environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is required, and mechanical work experience is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to be trained to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, motorized pallet jacks, or manual pallet jacks
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Preferred mechanical work experience

Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers

Pay

$21.25 as the starting rate with opportunities for advancement in level and pay. Some mandatory overtime.

Schedule

1st shift (7am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday)
