- Pay Painter I - $19.75/hour
- Pay Painter II - $20.50/hour
- Pay Painter III - $21.25/hour
Responsibilities
- The Painter is expected to safely complete supervised powder coat paint established procedures, processes, or policies.
- Paint Hangers safely and efficiently load and unload raw parts from the paint line.
- The Paint Hangers are expected to move efficiently and safely with the end result being a ready to use part or assembly.
- Paint I - Major Responsibilities:
- Loading, transferring, and unloading of parts on and/or from paint line
- Process each part by hanging/racking to paint application
- Inspect quality of parts before and after finishing process
- Perform work duties in a safe manner and in accordance with policy (including wearing required proper personal protective equipment, work habits and performing appropriate housekeeping duties)
- Constantly work in a constantly high heat environment
- Inspect quality of parts before and after finishing process
- Exchange and break down racks and prepare for burn-off
- Maintain proper counts
- Report all scrap
- Perform stock handling duties as required
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Painter II - Major Responsibilities:
- Perform cleaning and other preliminary operations to prepare materials for coating
- Perform painting operation in paint booth
- Assist with maintaining of paint equipment
- Painter III - Major Responsibilities:
- Perform work duties in a safe manner and in accordance with policy (including wearing required proper personal protective equipment, work habits and performing appropriate housekeeping duties)
- Perform painting process in painting system watching for appropriate paint coverage and quality coatings for parts
- Flex across different products / areas to support business needs
- Provide training to new employees or employees learning new work areas to work instructions/standard work
Qualifications
- Painter I - Minimum Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 0-2 years of experience
- Detail oriented and organized
- Painter II - Minimum Job Requirements:
- Painter I requirements
- Able to pass a pulmonary function test to ensure they are able to wear an air hood.
- Painter III - Minimum Job Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in a powder coat painting environment and able to pass a pulmonary function test.
- (PPE requirement)
- Preferred Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in root cause problem solving (5 Why, 8D, PDCA, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience effectively training other employees to work instructions/standard work
- Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP system (Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics)
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
- The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
- On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.
- The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds.
- Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
