Paint & Fiberglass Technician

Detailer/Paint/Fiberglass Technicians perform duties to meet customer satisfaction standards, company sales goals, and safety requirements. Schedule is 5 days per week, 8 hours per day as agreed with your manager.

Responsibilities

• Assess condition of gel coat and recommend proper maintenance protocol
• Polish and wax gel coats and various painted surfaces
• Choose, mix, and apply epoxy to wood or FRP
• Perform gel coat/paint cosmetic repairs
• Apply knowledge of various fiberglass cloths and their applications
• Operate hand and hand-held air/electric tools
• Perform bottom repairs and painting procedures
• Grind and layup simple laminations
• Understand the proper uses of marine grade fairing materials and woods
• Maintain finishes to industry standards
• Follow all procedures pertaining to safety and personal protection equipment
• Ensure quality of work performed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• 2 years of experience in fiberglass repair and paint finish application (marine experience preferred but not required)
• Must provide own hand tools
• Ability to speak and read English to follow work orders and product instructions
• Must meet the physical requirements of the job
• Strong work ethic, integrity, and positive attitude
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
• Ability to work comfortably around water
• Ability to work in tight spaces
• Ability to work at heights of up to 30 feet
