Description Portland Yacht Services is seeking a Marine Paint & Fiberglass Technician to join our Paint & Fiberglass Shop. Our team performs cosmetic and structural fiberglass repairs, composite work, gelcoat repairs, surface preparation, marine coatings, and refinishing. Projects range from small repairs and finish work to larger restoration and vessel refit projects. Responsibilities Perform structural and cosmetic fiberglass repairsPerform composite repairs and fabricationPrepare fiberglass and composite surfaces for repairPerform gelcoat repairs and color matchingRepair cracks, chips, gouges, and other surface damageSand, grind, fill, and fair surfacesPrepare vessels and components for paintingMask and protect surrounding areasApply marine primers, paints, and coatingsPerform or assist with spray-finishing projectsPerform touch-ups and finish repairsAssist with restoration and refit projectsMaintain paint, fiberglass, and finishing tools and equipmentFollow applicable safety and environmental proceduresAccurately document work performed and materials used Benefits Competitive pay based on experience and certificationsHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysOpportunities for training and professional developmentWork in a dynamic and growing outdoor recreation industry If you have paint, fiberglass, composite, or professional finishing experience and take pride in craftsmanship, we encourage you to apply. Requirements Previous marine paint, fiberglass, gelcoat, or composite experience is preferred. Relevant experience may also come from automotive body and paint, composites, industrial coatings, aircraft, manufacturing, or other finishing trades.
