Paint and Finish Supervisor

About the role

The Paint and Finish Supervisor oversees operations for Truck and Trailer Paint and the Trailer Finish departments. Key responsibilities include supervising teams, developing SOPs, conducting inspections, ensuring compliance, and collaborating across departments.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead paint and trailer finish teams, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
• Develop, track, measure, and report daily KPIs to illustrate team and department performance.
• Oversee the painting process, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to production schedules.
• Implement lean manufacturing techniques and best practices to optimize the painting process.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to drive process improvements.
• Communicate regularly with upper management on departmental performance and challenges.
• Cross-functionally schedule workload between departments and communicate under and overages.
• Collaborate with paint-related suppliers to ensure high-quality products and stay current with industry methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of wet paint or a similar manufacturing role.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
