Paid Media & Targeted Distribution Lead (Volunteer)

Position Summary

Volunteers for Democracy's Future (V4DF) is seeking a Paid Media & Targeted Distribution Lead to help ensure our civic engagement messaging reaches the audiences who need to hear it most. This volunteer will develop and execute paid distribution strategies across social media, streaming platforms, display networks, and programmatic advertising platforms. The position combines media buying, audience targeting, and performance optimization to maximize the effectiveness of every advertising dollar.

Responsibilities

• Develop paid media strategies supporting V4DF campaigns.
• Build and manage audience targeting using geographic, demographic, behavioral, and interest-based criteria.
• Execute advertising campaigns across Meta, Google, YouTube, StackAdapt, Simpli.fi, and other digital platforms as appropriate.
• Cook up with the Digital Media Manager to amplify high-performing organic content through paid promotion.
• Optimize campaigns for engagement, video completion rates, website traffic, volunteer recruitment, and fundraising objectives.
• Monitor campaign analytics and prepare performance reports with recommendations for improvement.
• Stay current on platform advertising policies and political advertising compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience managing paid digital advertising campaigns.
• Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, DSPs, or programmatic advertising platforms.
• Strong understanding of audience segmentation and targeting strategies.
• An analytical mindset with experience interpreting campaign metrics.
• Ability to work collaboratively with communications and creative teams.
• Passion for strengthening civic engagement and democratic participation.

Time Commitment

Flexible, approximately 5–10 hours per week, with additional availability during major campaign launches.
