With that in mind, we encourage all qualified applicants to apply. Job Description You'll work on key projects, maintain databases, review documents, and support a collaborative legal team. This is a 12-month, full-time opportunity, professional mentorship, and valuable exposure to legal and compliance functions in a mission-driven environment. Responsibilities ⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠Help with special projects in support of HR Legal compliance processes Other duties may include assisting with the maintenance of legal databases and electronic and paper files, helping with I-9 tracking and storage, assisting with ADA and FMLA requests as needed Prompt, quality response to customer requests and research inquiries Provide back-up support on a wide variety of matters for the Director, Workforce Relations and Compliance, the Compliance Manager, and the Compliance Specialist Qualifications ⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠Must be currently enrolled in a college or university program, or a recent graduate (within previous 12 months) Ability to handle sensitive, confidential material required Demonstrated computer skills with significant experience in spreadsheet, database, presentation, word processing, and e-mail software products Excellent writing, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills; Work well in a team environment and promote the standards and teachings of the Church in the work setting; Ability to analyze and document complex legal situations and effectively explain them to others; Demonstrated initiative to complete projects and stay on task; Demonstrated attention to detail and experience in research; Experience in a legal setting is helpful but not required (training will be provided) Must be able to quickly learn complex processes Former work with Form I-9s highly preferred About Us Church employees find joy and satisfaction in using their unique talents and abilities to further the Lord’s work.
