About the role
Employee will be responsible for packing chilled product into cases, ensuring proper coding, labeling, and sealing while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Remove chilled product from the line and place the correct number of pouches carefully into cases.
- Ensure each case receives the correct date code, label, and is taped properly.
- Verify that finished product is within the acceptable temperature range before packing.
- Construct, stamp, tape, label, and prepare boxes as needed.
- Inspect product pouches and cases for damage, pin holes, bad seals, incorrect/missing coding, or other defects.
- Place the correct number of pouches into each box.
- Maintain batch segregation by completing one batch before moving to the next.
- Keep the work area clean by sweeping, removing trash, and disposing of inedible product as necessary.
- Follow additional instructions from the Pack-off Lead, Production Line Lead, or Production Supervisor.
- Adhere to plant GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety guidelines.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to stoop, bend, and climb steps.
- Ability to lift 20-40 lbs.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment that may be cold or hot, depending on the season, during an 8-hour shift.
- Basic literacy skills in English to read product code information.
- Allergen training required.
