About the role

Mill Rock Packaging (MRP) is a U.S.-based company that designs, engineers, and produces high-end, sustainable, and customized graphic paperboard, folding carton, and commercial printing products. Serving various industries such as consumer staples, food and beverage, technology, pharmaceuticals, health, beauty, and more, MRP is seeking a passionate and agile Packer.

Responsibilities

  • Locate corrugate cartons needed for the next job during the make-ready process.
  • Keep the area clean, organized, and empty trash throughout the day to maintain safety and tidiness.
  • Ensure labels are properly printed and applied straight and neatly during the make-ready process.
  • Pack pieces into corrugated cases by reviewing the job order ticket and determining the pack count.
  • Slide the corrugated case into the tape machine once completed towards the Padlocking area.
  • Maximize the weight capacity of the tape machine (40 lbs).
  • Quality check every third carton to ensure compliance with regulations, including checking for line-up, tearing/cracking, belt marks, burns, scratches, scuff marks, glue squeezed out, glue line acceptance, no glue tack, crease/score line acceptance, and gluer impact on auto-bottoms.
  • Maintain packing speed with the operator and complete a full line clearance once the job is finished.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Team.

Requirements

  • Passionate and positive attitude with a love for problem-solving.
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team and understand how their role impacts the team.
  • Basic computer skills or willingness to learn basic skills.
  • Excellent endurance to stand and move around the work area all day.
  • Knowledge of measuring and counting.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a printing company is preferred but not required.
  • A GED or high school equivalent is preferred but not required.

Pay

Compensation details are confidential and will be provided upon interview.

Schedule

Non-exempt (Union), 40 hours per week, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM with a 20-minute paid lunch break. Occasional overtime and weekends may be required.
