As a Material Packer, you will inspect for quality, maintain accurate counts and paperwork, and stack product into boxes on skids. This role involves learning the basic operations of the converting line and performing essential tasks to assist line operators in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand job descriptions and work instructions.
  • Complete and comprehend the EverTec Material Packing Quality Assurance training program.
  • Perform visual quality inspections as required by the EverTec Quality Assurance program.
  • Implement the Quality Assurance program’s escalation process for non-conforming product.
  • Ensure product is packaged according to customer requirements, including correct boxes, quantities, and label information.
  • Maintain accurate records of good product counts and waste counts.
  • Adhere to efficient packing processes as identified by supervision and management.
  • Work all four stations of the Packer role, including:
    • Pallet Stacker Station: Assemble cardboard lids, conduct quality checks, remove full boxes of mailers, and stack them on finished good pallets.
    • Box Making Station: Construct cardboard boxes and perform general housekeeping.
    • Mailer Packer Station: Pack mailers into constructed boxes on the conveyor belt and conduct active quality checks.
    • Utility Packer Station: Assist other roles, conduct quality checks, monitor finished good timestamps, and perform housekeeping.
  • Perform rework and non-standard work assignments, including reworking material out of customer specification and general housekeeping.
  • Assist line operators in wash-ups, makereadies, and startups as required.
  • Maintain clean workspaces and floors.
  • Follow all required safety procedures to protect the health and safety of all employees.
  • Adhere to safety rules and procedures.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Ability to take coaching well and communicate respectfully with others.
  • Promote a positive teamwork culture.
  • Effectively and respectfully communicate with the team and during shift transitions.
  • Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.

Skills

  • Frequent standing, stooping, sitting.
  • Frequent lifting, twisting, pushing, pulling (up to 70 pounds).
  • Occasional typing/keyboarding.
  • Repetitive wrist motion.

Environment

  • Exposure to moving equipment.
  • Inside work with heat potentially exceeding 90°F and humidity exceeding 80%.
  • Noise levels may exceed 85dB.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.

Schedule

Available shifts: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule. Overtime expected based on business demand.
