Packer (7am-7pm)

About the role

As a Packer, you will work in an area producing product that is packed into trays or cartons for shipping. You will prepare cartons and displays, manually pack and palletize product, and perform final quality inspections of finished goods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cardboard cartons and trays for product packing by folding, taping, sorting, and labeling.
• Ensure tape guns and tapers have sufficient tape.
• Perform visual inspections of final product packaging for integrity, including bag registration, code dates, prices, and proper seals.
• Remove out-of-specification product and communicate packaging issues.
• Fill cartons and displays based on packaging specifications.
• Stack the correct number of cartons or trays on pallets using the proper pattern.
• Use a pallet jack to move finished goods weighing up to 300 lbs when applicable.
• Maintain a clean work area by clearing loose product, discarding defective items, and sweeping floors.
• Assist with product rework as needed.
• Adhere to safety, hygiene, and 5S protocols for housekeeping and personal protection.
• Store packaging supplies in designated areas and keep aisles and exits clear.
• Perform sanitation tasks, including equipment washes, seasoner cleanings, and wipeouts.
• Prepare production lines for startup and assist with equipment changeovers.
• Operate tray-making or stapling machines as needed.
• Report issues to Machine Operators, Group Leaders, or Supervisors.
• Perform other duties as required, with mandatory overtime possible.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of production experience in a manufacturing environment.

Pay

The starting rate for this full-time, hourly position is $18.60 per hour. Individual base pay depends on work location, experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include additional forms of compensation.
