Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Inspect equipment at the beginning of each shift and conduct an audit of safety devices and emergency switches.
  • Read and execute work orders and verbal/instructional tasks, recording production data.
  • Inspect work pieces for cosmetic appearance and obvious non-conformities.
  • Assemble parts or wrap work pieces in appropriate packing materials.
  • Use various tools such as a tape measure, height gauge, caliper or square to verify against specifications.
  • Ensure cleanliness of work area and general housekeeping of the department.
  • Verify quality of parts before forwarding to the next operation.
  • Participate in all established company health and safety training programs and comply with all policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • General computer knowledge.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent mental and visual attention with intermittent checking.
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Work in a hot environment.

Work Environment

  • Near moving mechanical parts.
  • Exposure to airborne particles and chemicals.
  • Moderate noise level.
  • Required to wear safety glasses, earplugs, and safety shoes.
  • May require specific gloves.
