Packer 1 (3rd Shift)

About the role

Reports to: Department Supervisor. Location: Garden Grove, CA. Type: Full-Time. Schedule: 3rd Shift. The majority of work is performed in a manufacturing setting. This position requires access to knowledge and technical data regulated by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR); Valence Surface Technologies must verify that applicants meet ITAR requirements prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for packaging parts for shipment/transport.
• Measure, weigh, and count products and materials
• Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products in order to ensure that packing specifications are met
• Ensure that all documentation is kept with the materials
• Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records
• Seal containers or materials, using stretch wrap, tape, and other packaging materials
• Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers using hand tools
• Clean containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools
• Follow instructions from supervisor pertaining to specific instructions or tasks
• Ensure integrity of parts after processing (damage, scratches, etc.)
• Visually inspect parts to ensure the process has been completed correctly
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required
• Vision (near and distance)
• Sense of sound – able to hear average conversation
• Sense of touch
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety glasses
• Standing for long periods of time
