Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with Huber Sustainability Management Standard requirements.
- Monitor equipment for visible emissions, shut down equipment with visible emissions, and report emissions to manager.
- Report spills, incidents, and near hits to manager and input into Enablon.
- Operate blending system to ensure recipes meet specifications and packaged bags/supersacks comply with weight tolerances and regulatory labeling requirements.
- Manual handling and palletizing bags weighing up to 50 lbs. at a rate of up to 120 per hour for the shift.
- Service and repair bulk powders and packaging equipment, including supersack fillers and automatic bagging systems.
- Keep palletizer supplied with necessary supplies and clean super sacks and bagged pallets in the pallet blow-off booth.
- Warehouses finished product, completes required paperwork, stencils product, repalletizes product, and dumps nonconforming product.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices, inspects packaging supplies for reuse, and maintains records of production.
- Works closely with Purchasing and Scheduling to ensure adequate supplies of packaging and production materials are available.
- Follows ISO 9001 guidelines and supports the quality management system.
- Consults with Maintenance personnel and initiates action to correct any problems found.
- Notifies Production Manager of any problems that may impact confirmed finished product ship dates.
- Collaborates with QC Lab Technician to ensure compliance with quality control specifications.
- Participates in continuous improvement efforts, including attending meetings, using continuous improvement tools, tracking data, and addressing issues on white boards.
Physical Requirements
- Works inside and outside in all areas of the plant, often exposed to heat, cold, inclement weather, grease, oil, potential ground product/raw material spillage, and dirty working conditions.
- Thorough knowledge of manual bagging, super sack filling, and automated packaging processes, including starting up, running, and explaining the process.
- Ability to lift and move 50 lbs. consistently while packaging, and ability to ascend and descend ladders, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and crawl.
- Work in a dusty environment where temperatures vary from extremely hot to cold, work in humidity, and around various chemicals.
