Packaging Operator

About the role

The Packaging Operator position at The Lagunitas Brewing Company is responsible for efficiently and safely operating packaging line machinery, adhering to safety standards, and maintaining high quality assurance for the craft beer cases produced.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety standards set by Lagunitas and OSHA.
• Participate in safety meetings, audits, and good catch program.
• Maintain packaging components, assemble mother cartons and beer shells, cans, bottles, and kegs of beer.
• Operate multiple parts of the packaging line(s).
• Run all aspects of kegging, bottling, and canning lines.
• Make equipment and product changeovers, using tools as needed.
• Clean and fill of various types of kegs.
• Monitor and react to QA specifications, including quality control of various packaging processes, fill levels, aesthetics of outer packaging and labels, and carbonation levels in finished beer.
• Sanitize assigned area, including performing Clean In Place (CIP) tasks manually and automatically.
• Keep track of stock levels of packaging materials.
• Assist in or lead training of newly hired team members as needed.

Requirements

• Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Must have a minimum of 6 months previous experience working in a warehouse, production, or brewing environment.
• Must be 21+ years of age.

Qualifications

• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Forklift experience desired.

Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to troubleshoot machinery as needed.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift and carry 60 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for majority of work schedule.
• Tolerate summer/winter temperature conditions in a production environment.
• Must be able to work flexible shifts, overtime as necessary, and holidays and weekends.
