Responsibilities

  • Leads team in line setup and changeover of product, identifying critical controls and addressing issues.
  • Provides production run sheets to packaging machine operators to complete daily production runs.
  • Updates production system and/or case total board with completed case counts to communicate production goals to the next shift.
  • Maintains raw material inventory and communicates discrepancies as needed.
  • Sets up and operates multiple machines in the packaging area.
  • Aids the operation of packaging machinery by troubleshooting issues with codes, dates, and prices.
  • Aids in maintaining and leading GMP, PPE, safety, and quality policies.
  • Aids in communications to Quality Assurance on holds, changeovers, etc.
  • Aids in completing daily line paperwork on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Reads and understands machine data.
  • May assist Packaging Coordinator or Supervisor with training of new employees and operators on the line.
  • If applicable, runs checks on metal detectors to ensure they are working properly.
  • Aids in supporting and participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives including 5S.
  • Aids in communicating with supervisors on job-related injuries.
  • Supports Continuous Improvement initiatives including 5S.

Requirements

  • Attention to detail, mechanical ability.
  • Able to assist supervisor or packaging coordinator in leading team.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Clearly expresses instructions and communications in talking and writing.
  • Demonstrates ownership accountabilities and leadership.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Average math skills (add, subtract, divide, percentages, and fractions).
  • All machines on-line (continuously).
  • Preferred maintenance/production machine experience/knowledge.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required.
