About the Role

The Packaging Technician will ensure all products are packaged accurately and compliantly to maintain patient satisfaction and proper brand representation. This entry-level position seeks driven, detail-oriented individuals with selfless motivation. The role requires strong mental stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to teamwork and accountability. You will report to the Quality Assurance Packaging Manager.

Responsibilities

• Execute and monitor all tasks in packaging areas, including packaging flower, edibles, and concentrates with precise weights and piece counts while maintaining rate.
• Examine machine operation, learn to run and troubleshoot machinery, and train new team members.
• Maintain equipment in good condition, clean machines, set up scales, and report when small equipment needs replacement.
• Supply the packaging manager with performance analysis, log downtime, and complete training in cGMP, health & safety, gowning, SOPs, and documentation.
• Operate basic labeling and packaging machines safely.
• Follow SOPs and training to check components for QA/QC, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
• Perform line checks during packing orders and cleaning.
• Check labels and packages for correct information (lot # and expiry date) and for damage.
• Stay current with all SOPs to ensure cGMP compliance and look for actions to prevent defects.
• Report corrections and discrepancies to management to ensure accuracy of inventory counts, labeling, and pertinent information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Six (6) months of previous relevant work experience within packaging, pharmaceutical, or biotech firms.
• Strong problem-solving and mechanical troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in accordance with SOPs and training.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to enter and maintain accurate data in a timely manner.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Work quickly but efficiently while maintaining product integrity.
• Light to moderate lifting of up to 50 lbs.; heavier weights with assistance.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
• Perform repetitive motions and understand lab equipment.
• Wear company-provided scrubs, hair/beard nets, gloves, surgical masks, and safety glasses/goggles/splash shield while working in the Packaging Department.
• Adhere to facility general hygiene requirements.
• Capacity to stay focused on the task at hand.
