Packaging Team Lead

What You Will Be Doing

• Covershift Supervisor in coordinating packaging needs on production equipment.
• Ensures all lines are adequately supplied with needed materials such as foil cartons, trays, etc.
• Aids Packaging Operators as needed to maintain a smooth workflow.
• Setups and operates multiple types of packaging equipment including carton erectors, partition inserters, product inserters, top closers, and palletization equipment.
• Ensures labels correctly match the product in facilities where manual labeling is required.

Performance Measurements

• Packaging Operators accurately follow all labeling procedures.
• Cleanliness of machines and work area maintained.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months of Packaging Operator experience.
• Some lead experience preferred.

Qualifications/Skills

• Good mechanical skills.
• Able to lift 25 pounds and stand for a minimum of 12 hours.
• Able to work with multiple types of equipment simultaneously.

Physical Demands

• Regularly stand, walk, reach with hands and arms.
• Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• Sometimes stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally talk or hear.
• Sit occasionally.
• Lift and/or move up to 10 lbs frequently.
• Lift and/or move up to 30 lbs occasionally.
• Lift and/or move more than 50 lbs occasionally.
• Close vision required.
