About the role

The Packaging / Shipping Supervisor oversees daily personnel and processes for receiving, warehousing, and shipping at the Fulton Plant. This role leads associates across multiple zones and shifts to meet customer demand while driving improvements in productivity, safety, quality, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs, and overall efficiency. The position also drives new equipment planning, floor layout, and cost-reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Execute against logistics KPIs: safety, quality, cost, delivery, productivity, and morale.
  • Maintain corporate supply chain procedures and processes to meet KPIs across multiple locations.
  • Manage demand against warehouse inventory to meet internal and external customer requirements.
  • Investigate and identify root causes for inventory inaccuracies; reconcile inventory balances and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure inventory storage locations are organized, properly marked, and identified.
  • Oversee local parts shipping, tracking, and coordination.
  • Collaborate with the Traffic department to resolve roadblocks and ensure timely, accurate shipping of finished goods.
  • Drive safety initiatives and improvement plans; maintain a safe work environment by addressing hazards and involving associates in safety improvements.
  • Ensure staff follows all established safety rules and works with EHS to maintain environmental standards.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through lean practices such as inventory reduction, flow day reduction, and optimizing shipping and warehousing costs.
  • Demonstrate lean leadership and foster a lean culture; engage associates in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Facilitate the Talent Management Process to build high-performing teams and develop future leaders.
  • Lead goal setting, coaching, mentoring, and career development for associates; identify training needs and create strategies to meet customer expectations.
  • Organize warehouse operations, label goods, plot routes, and process shipments.
  • Update and evaluate performance metrics to drive enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field with 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, shipping, packaging, or distribution operations.
  • OR High school diploma with a minimum of 7 years of supervisory or team lead experience in shipping, packaging, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing.
  • Experience using ERP/SAP systems and Microsoft Office applications for shipping documentation, inventory transactions, reporting, and operational performance metrics.
  • Strong understanding of packaging standards, shipment accuracy requirements, and customer delivery expectations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with direct responsibility for shipping and packaging operations, including carrier coordination, dock scheduling, inventory accuracy, shipment execution, and customer service performance.
  • Experience coordinating outbound shipments, carrier relationships, dock scheduling, and transportation logistics in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma principles focused on safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience leading safety initiatives, employee training, and continuous improvement activities within manufacturing or distribution.
  • Cross-functional experience working with Production, Customer Service, Planning, Quality, and Transportation providers to support on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

Pay

Yearly compensation for this role is $67,320 - $83,160, based on experience and education.
